Well this was our first comp of the year and there was some pretty stiff competition at this one, there was 76 teams from six states that I know of. We didn't fair that well this weekend at the BBQ comp, but they did do a Iron Chef Competition that they choose five teams out of the 76 and we were one of the teams. What they do is drop off a mystery box at your site after your last turn in and give you five minute to round up a few items to take with you to cook with. So with the help of my good friends Tom and Char Manhart from[Roo-B-Q'N]comp team we took on the other teams in the death match well not really a death match but it sounded better that way. We came out victorious with teriyaki pork tenderloin steaks with fresh Rosemary. Grilled sweet potatoes, Zucchini with fresh sauteed onions and garlic with lemon pepper. For the desert we made grilled peaches with a Bing Cherry reduction and home made cinnamon whip cream. Yes I forgot to take a picture but I will say one thing 1 1/2 hours goes buy real fast.
